The Future of Learning in the Age of AI
Anne Lee Skates from a16z (Andreessen Horowitz) on their five predictions for the future of learning in the age of AI. (1) The one-on-one model goes mainstream, (2) Individualized learning goes from dream to reality, (3) A new generation of AI-first tools for both teachers and students will rise, (4) Assessments and credentialing will need to adapt and new assessment tools will be developed, and (5) Fact-checking will become critical as the ā€œtruthā€ gets distorted.

Why Educators And Employers Must Come Together To Cross The Skills Gap
If we want to cross the skills gap, we need to rethink how we educate members of the younger generation in ways that encourage them to seek out valuable skills (instead of just going for degrees). Deep dive on the need to connect education and employment that’s worth reading.

The Transcend Scholars Initiative
Transcend Network is launching the Transcend Scholars Initiative: A scholarship program for founders building startups in 5 key areas within the future of learning & work! They are looking to work with up to 5 potential fellows who will receive a $1,000 scholarship to be applied to the tuition of the Transcend Fellowship, as well as the public recognition of being a leading founder and connections with key founders in the space! The application deadline is already this Sunday, Feb. 12th.


Investment news

HowNowĀ has just secured €4.6 million for its learning experience platform, helping teams upskill and learn together. The new funding is coming from Mercia Asset Management and Pearson.

Pebble offers a flexible childcare & activity booking platform. The Edtech startup raised a €5.6 million founding round from Toronto-based venture foundry Koru.
